Why I Built New Empact Work

Founder story

After serving on the executive team and leading technology and innovation initiatives within associations, I saw firsthand how high stakes member programs were actually run.

Innovation challenges, awards programs, and grant initiatives were often carried by committed staff and volunteer reviewers working across email threads, spreadsheets, and disconnected systems. Decisions required reconstruction. Review coordination depended on reminders. Each cycle felt heavier than the last.

I also saw association management companies running the same kinds of programs across many clients, facing the same problems at a different scale. Whether the team ran one program or fifteen, the pattern was the same: brilliant people doing high stakes work with tools that worked against them.

These programs shape reputation, member engagement, and institutional credibility. They should not depend on manual coordination or informal tracking.

New Empact Work was built to bring structure, governance, and continuity to the way associations and the management companies that serve them run member programs.

I built the platform around three principles:

  • Structure that survives staff transitions
  • Decisions that hold up to scrutiny
  • AI that strengthens human judgment rather than replacing it

The name Empact is empathy with impact. The platform’s job is to do the operational and governance work so the people running the program, the staff, the volunteer reviewers, and the applicants, can do theirs without burning out.

It is designed for associations and for the management companies that run programs on their behalf, and maintained with long term governance and operational continuity in mind.

Brilliant work should not be carried by spreadsheets and reminders.
